The Newell D-Tap Power Adapter for NP-FW50 is a dummy battery that powers Sony cameras from an external V-mount battery via D-Tap, for long recording sessions without swapping batteries.
It sits in the battery compartment in place of a traditional NP-FW50 cell and draws power from a V-lock (V-mount) battery through its D-Tap socket, giving longer runtime on a single charge. The design is matched to the battery compartment for a proper fit, the angled D-Tap plug helps keep cables tidy, and the 100cm spiral cable saves space and reduces tangling. A Velcro strap is included for cable management.
Ideal for: video creators recording multi-hour webinars, timelapses, and live broadcasts who want to power an NP-FW50 Sony camera from a larger external battery.
Small camera batteries need frequent swapping during long recordings, interrupting the shoot. Drawing from a larger V-mount battery via D-Tap instead extends run time significantly, which is increasingly common in film and video production.
