Godox it32 and X5 FAQs
You can buy genuine Godox camera flashes directly from CameraStuff online with nationwide delivery or in-person at our shop in Blairgowrie, Randburg. As an official authorised Godox distributor, every Godox speedlite purchased from CameraStuff includes a 2-year local warranty and a 60-day money-back return policy. All warranty claims, servicing, and repairs are handled locally at our in-house Godox repair centre using genuine replacement parts.
The modular design of the Godox iT32 flash and X5 system offers two major advantages:
- Multi-Brand Flexibility: Instead of buying dedicated flashes for different camera bodies, you simply swap the magnetic hot shoe module (X5C for Canon, X5N for Nikon, X5S for Sony, X5F for Fujifilm, or X5O for Olympus/Panasonic). This lets you use the same iT32 flash unit across different camera systems with full TTL auto-exposure and High-Speed Sync.
- Durability & Repairability: The hot shoe mount is typically the most vulnerable part of an on-camera flash. If a hot shoe pin or foot snaps due to an impact, you can replace the modular X5 foot instantly without repairing or replacing the entire flash body.
Yes. When clipped directly onto the Godox iT32, the X5 module acts as the flash foot for on-camera shooting. When detached from the iT32 body, the X5 automatically switches into wireless transmitter mode. Mounted to your camera hot shoe, the X5 functions as a compact 2.4GHz X-system trigger capable of firing the iT32 off-camera, as well as triggering any other Godox wireless flash, outdoor strobe, or continuous light across distances up to 20 metres (or up to 80 metres when used as a combined master setup).
Ultra-compact flashes offer specific practical benefits over full-sized speedlites:
- Ideal for Mirrorless Bodies: Fits seamlessly on compact mirrorless and rangefinder cameras without creating top-heavy weight distribution or balance issues.
- Discreet Street & Event Shooting: Takes up minimal space in your camera bag and looks non-intrusive during candid event work, documentaries, or street photography.
- On-the-Go Mobility: Weighing only around 169g with a built-in USB-C rechargeable battery, it provides up to 510 full-power flashes, making it an excellent lightweight fill-light option for travel, vlogging, and day-to-day shooting.
The Godox iT32 flash unit itself is cross-compatible, while camera communications depend on the specific X5 module attached:
- Canon (X5C): Compatible with Canon EOS DSLRs and mirrorless bodies (E-TTL II).
- Nikon (X5N): Compatible with Nikon DSLRs and Z-series mirrorless bodies (i-TTL).
- Sony (X5S): Compatible with Sony Alpha mirrorless and compact cameras (ADI/P-TTL). The X5S also supports global shutter sync speeds on compatible Sony bodies.
- Fujifilm (X5F): Compatible with Fujifilm X-series and GFX mirrorless systems (TTL).
