The Newell D-Tap Power Adapter for EN-EL15 is a dummy battery that powers Nikon cameras from an external V-mount battery via D-Tap, for long recording sessions without swapping batteries.
It sits in the battery compartment in place of a traditional EN-EL15 cell and draws power from a V-lock (V-mount) battery through its D-Tap socket. The optimal shape and dimensions fit snugly in the compartment without blockage, the angled D-Tap plug helps keep cables tidy, and the spiral cable saves space and reduces tangling. A Velcro strap is included to keep cables organised.
Ideal for: video creators recording long broadcasts, extended shots, webinars, and web streams who want to power an EN-EL15 Nikon camera from a larger external battery.
Small camera batteries need frequent swapping during long recordings, interrupting the shoot. Drawing from a larger V-mount battery via D-Tap instead extends run time significantly, and D-Tap external power sources are increasingly common in film and photography for exactly this reason.
