Product Description
The Alvin's Cables D-Tap to USB-C PD Bidirectional Charger Cable is a 24 cm two-way power lead for filmmakers and content creators who run V-mount or Gold-mount batteries and want to power USB-C gear from those batteries, or top the batteries back up from a USB-C source.
The cable is short and purposeful, with a D-tap plug on one end that clicks into a battery plate and a USB-C plug on the other. It coils neatly on a belt or in a pouch, and both connectors seat with a firm, positive fit so power stays connected as you move around a set.
Ideal for: Filmmakers, camera operators, and content creators using V-mount or Gold-mount batteries to power a camera, monitor, laptop, or phone, or to recharge those batteries from a USB-C PD power bank or wall adapter.
On a long shoot you often have a large V-mount or Gold-mount battery on the rig but a growing pile of USB-C devices to keep alive, and separate chargers for each mean more kit to carry. This cable answers that by moving power both ways over a single lead, so the battery can run your USB-C gear during the day and be recharged from a USB-C bank or outlet afterwards. The result is one cable that keeps a mixed kit powered from the batteries you already carry.
Key Features
- Bidirectional power: Power flows either way between D-tap and USB-C, so the same cable runs a camera, monitor, laptop, or phone from a V-mount or Gold-mount battery, then recharges that battery from a USB-C PD bank or outlet when you are done.
- 100W fast charging: The cable delivers up to 100W, with the D-tap side rated 12 to 16.8V at 10A and the USB-C side 3 to 20V at 5A, which shortens battery charging time and holds up power-hungry devices through a long session.
- Multiple fast-charge protocols: Support for FCP, AFC, SCP, DRP, Try.SRC, PD3.0, QC2.0, and QC3.0 means the cable negotiates the right fast-charging mode with a wide range of devices and power sources.
- Built-in protection system: An intelligent BMS control circuit guards against overcharge, overcurrent, and overvoltage, so your battery and connected gear are protected while power moves in either direction.
