Product Description
The Alvin's Cables D-Tap to DC Right-Angle Coiled Cable is a soft, coiled power lead for videographers who want to run an on-set monitor such as the Atomos Ninja V, Blackmagic Video Assist, or SmallHD 702 from a V-mount battery.
The cable has a supple red liquid-silicone jacket that feels almost rubbery in the hand, coiling back on itself so slack gathers up instead of trailing across the rig. A standard D-tap plug clicks into the battery plate, and the right-angle DC plug turns flat against the monitor so it sits low rather than sticking out behind the screen.
Ideal for: Videographers and camera operators powering an on-set monitor or wireless transmission system from a V-mount or V-lock battery with a D-tap output, including Atomos, Blackmagic, SmallHD, Feelworld, Portkeys, and Hollyland units.
Running a monitor off mains or its own small battery ties you to an outlet or leaves you swapping cells mid-shoot, and a stiff, straight power cable snags and pulls at the monitor's DC socket. This cable answers that by drawing power from the same V-mount battery already on your rig, with a coil that keeps the run tidy and a right-angle plug that eases the load on the socket. The result is a soft, hard-wearing power link that keeps a monitor running from your main battery.
Key Features
- Ultra-soft liquid-silicone coiled cable: The silicone jacket stays soft and flexible and resists knotting, and the cable is rated for more than 25,000 bend cycles, so it coils tidily on a moving rig and lasts through repeated setups.
- D-tap to right-angle DC connectors: A standard D-tap plug feeds from the battery plate and the right-angle 5.5 x 2.5 mm DC plug (also compatible with 5.5 x 2.1 mm) turns flat against the monitor, so the connection sits low and puts less strain on the DC socket.
- Wide monitor compatibility: It powers a broad range of monitors and transmitters, from Atomos and Blackmagic to SmallHD, Feelworld, Portkeys, and Hollyland, so one cable covers much of a mixed on-set kit.
- Easy to clean: The silicone surface wipes clean with an alcohol pad, so it stays presentable after dusty or messy location work.
