Product Description
The Alvin's Cables 8K 2.1 Micro-HDMI to HDMI Ultra-Thin Coiled Cable is a slim coiled lead for videographers whose mirrorless camera has a micro-HDMI port and needs a tidy, low-strain link to a monitor or recorder like the Atomos Ninja V.
The cable is strikingly thin and supple in a soft TPE jacket, and the coil pulls out to reach then draws back so slack gathers up rather than trailing across the rig. A straight micro-HDMI plug goes to the camera and a straight full-size plug to the monitor, with gold-plated contacts inside reinforced aluminium alloy shells that seat firmly into each port.
Ideal for: Videographers using mirrorless cameras such as the Sony A7R III, A7 III, Canon EOS R5, or Fujifilm X-T4 with a micro-HDMI output, recording to a monitor or recorder like the Atomos Ninja V, SmallHD, or Portkeys.
Micro-HDMI ports are small and easily strained, and a loose, sagging cable both clutters a tight rig and tugs at that fragile socket every time the camera moves. This cable answers that with an ultrathin, flexible body and a coil that keeps slack gathered up, so it puts little leverage on the port while carrying a clean feed to the monitor. The result is a slim, low-strain connection that eases the load on a vulnerable camera socket.
Key Features
- Ultrathin flexible TPE coaxial build: The 2.4 mm cable with a 1.87 mm shielded core bends easily and resists knotting and breaking, so it routes cleanly through a tight rig and puts little strain on the micro-HDMI port.
- Coiled design: The coil retracts to about 30 cm and stretches to roughly 80 cm, so it stays short on the camera but reaches a monitor mounted across the rig.
- HDMI 2.1 at up to 48 Gb/s: The full 48 Gb/s of bandwidth carries 8K60 and 4K120 footage, which means high-resolution recording to a device like the Ninja V passes through without dropped frames or screen flashing.
- Gold-plated contacts in an aluminium alloy housing: Corrosion-resistant gold contacts inside a reinforced alloy shell keep a stable link and add impact resistance, so the connection holds up over repeated use on location.
