Product Description
The Alvin's Cables 8K 2.1 Micro-HDMI to HDMI Braided Coiled Cable is a full-size-to-micro HDMI lead for videographers whose mirrorless camera has a micro-HDMI port and needs a tidy link to a monitor or recorder like the Atomos Ninja V.
The cable wears a blue braided jacket that gives it a taut, hard-wearing feel, and the coil pulls out to reach then draws back so slack gathers up on the rig. The micro-HDMI plug goes to the camera and the full-size plug to the monitor, and both aluminium connector shells are light in the hand yet seat firmly into their ports, with a moulded strain relief where the cable meets each plug.
Ideal for: Videographers using mirrorless cameras such as the Sony A7R III, A7 III, Canon EOS R5, or Fujifilm X-T4 with a micro-HDMI output, recording to a monitor or recorder like the Atomos Ninja V, SmallHD, or Portkeys.
Micro-HDMI ports are small and easily strained, and a loose, sagging cable both clutters a tight rig and tugs at that fragile socket every time the camera moves. This cable answers that with a coil that keeps slack gathered up and a strain relief that flexes with the cable at the joint, while the upgraded braided construction holds a stable signal to the monitor. The result is a tidy, hard-wearing connection that eases the load on a vulnerable camera port.
Key Features
- Braided coiled design: The coil retracts to about 43 cm and stretches to roughly 70 cm, so it stays short on the camera and loose cable does not snag on clamps or catch your hands as you pan.
- HDMI 2.1 at up to 48 Gb/s: The full 48 Gb/s of bandwidth carries 8K60 and 4K120 footage, which means high-resolution monitoring and recording to a device like the Ninja V passes through without dropped frames or screen flashing.
- Upgraded aluminium shells with strain relief: The alloy connector shells are hard-wearing yet lightweight, and the strain relief at both ends flexes with the cable, so the plugs are less likely to fail at the joint over repeated use.
- Wide camera and monitor compatibility: It connects a broad range of micro-HDMI mirrorless cameras to monitors and recorders from Atomos, SmallHD, Portkeys, Blackmagic, Feelworld, and Hollyland, so one cable covers much of a mixed kit.
